While doing some painting outside, the girls overturned some rocks and found a millipede.  At first, they were hesitant until I reassured them they’re pretty gentle creepy crawlies.  When they asked what they were called, I told them millipede but they somehow heard penelope.  It began a lengthy conversation (and occasional argument) about who was going to hold the penelope.

I think the girls heard Penelope because they already have a cousin of the same adorable name.
Penelope is way cuter than millipede anyway.
