Though there are still a billion or so things left on our list to finish the house (if there even is such a thing as “finished” for homeowners), most of them are the details, such as the trim.  So I’m back at it again.  And just because it’s a relatively small project compared to building entirely new stairs or putting in a new bathroom doesn’t mean it isn’t a monumental task itself.

Sanding, staining and sealing the wood, on top of figuring out where the mountain of trim should be hung, has started consuming my every thought, even my dreams.  I have woken up the past few mornings already trying to figure out how to trim down certain pieces or which I’m going to work on next.  I am consoled in the thought that at least my obsessing is getting some things done.
