Herc is one of the last animals still at our homestead.

We are nearly animaless.  The sheep and goats went a few weeks ago.  Some of the chickens headed back to their original owners and our neighbors will be taking the rest.  And the horses were shipped off this morning.  It wasn’t nearly as sad seeing them leave.

For most of us.

What makes me laugh about Evelyn’s reaction is that they’re heading to her grandparents house in Nebraska, so we’ll be seeing them just as regularly as we see them here.
