I’ve learned a lot of things about myself lately.  For example, I discovered I love to cross stitch, even if Jack has repeatedly told me it’s an ‘ugly art.’  He hasn’t quite expounded what he means, but it doesn’t sound good, does it?  I just shrug and keep on stitching.
I’ve also finally admitted to myself that I have a love/hate relationship with running.  I haven’t the slightest idea why I keep trying to be a runner when I don’t particularly enjoy coming home red-faced and sweaty, with sharp stitches in my sides.  This silly routine began way back in middle school and continues off and on today.

Though I’ve long shied away from blogs, simply because I detest the very word (the sound itself is enough to make me shudder), I’ve overcome my hesitation for a few reasons: I like to journal and consequently, I love to write.
So, I hope you enjoy perusing some of the adventures our growing family has had these past few years as we’ve lived in Iowa, toiling away on our own piece of dilapidated paradise.
